Benefiting charities

The mission of the Foundation is to support the CHUM, one of the largest francophone teaching hospital centres in North America, thus helping it to meet the immediate and urgent needs of its patients. One hundred percent of funds collected will go directly toward providing even better care to patients, whether for the acquisition of advanced equipment, supporting research leading to the discovery of promising treatments, helping to train the next generation of medical practitioners or supporting the promotion of health.

Thanks to the generosity of its much-valued donors and partners, the Foundation turned over to the CHUM in 2011-2012 the largest amount in its history: $12,827,595. Since its inception in 1998, it has provided nearly $94 million* to the hospital centre. Giving a donation to the Fondation du CHUM, means making a gift towards the health of patients, for today’s and future generations.

In September 2012, the CHUM and its Foundation are taking a historic step: the launch of their capital fundraising campaign is underway! This campaign, one of the largest in the health field in Canada, aims to raise $300 million to support the expansion of the current CHUM and the ongoing development of the new CHUM. Led by the Campaign Cabinet made up of distinguished women and men and supported by many donors and partners, as well as by a community that is more mobilized than ever behind this great societal project, the CHUM and its Foundation are confident they will achieve their ambitious, yet realistic, goal. All funds raised during this campaign will contribute directly to the well-being of patients and the advancement of care in Quebec.
